4th December
Introduction to Prosthetics (45 minutes)
- Brief on quick silicone sculpt gel application
- Basic application and blending techniques. Colour application
- Removal and skin care
11th December
1. Character Makeup Techniques (30 minutes)
- Aging makeup
- Fantasy creature features (e.g. animal noses, alien skin)
2. Final Project (45 minutes)
- Students create a character or effect of their choice
- Incorporate techniques learned in previous sessions
3. Picture Time (15 minutes)
- Take some Selfies !!
This course plan covers a range of basic special effects techniques suitable for teens, including bruising, cuts, scars, blood effects, burns, and an introduction to prosthetics. The sessions are designed to be hands-on, allowing students to practice and develop their skills under guidance. The final session gives students the opportunity to showcase their creativity by combining the techniques they've learned into a character or effect of their choice.
All necessary products will be supplied for the class. However, we kindly ask that you bring your own set of makeup brushes. If you don't have your own, we offer brush sets for purchase at £15 each, which you can keep after the class.
TOP TIP:
To clean your brushes, use cold water and a silicone-free shampoo, rinsing thoroughly. Avoid hot water as it may loosen the glue holding the bristles.
Bring a notebook, its totally cool to take notes !!

IMPORTANT: Please inform us of any known skin allergies before the class. During our first session, we will conduct a patch test by applying a small amount of adhesive behind your elbow. This should remain in place for 72 hours. If you experience any adverse reactions, please let us know before the next class so we can make appropriate accommodations
